SECRET SPOT: A priviledge reserved to our guest

Our native guides are passionate fly fishers. They are also very patient for those yearning to discover one of the worlds most noble sports.
RIO PICO

The Rio Pico river flows into the Pacific ocean. Born in the plain steppe, with the conjunction of several small rivers in this steppe, it changes its structure as it gets closer to the mountains to become a mountain river, typical freestone of the Andes, thereby offering advantages for fly fishing with different techniques.
This river offers many varied days of fly fishing with different sections and you will find very different conditions and environments. This variety ranges from delicate fishing equipment and small flies, to large attractors in some sections where the river is bigger and faster.
The principal fish are rainbow, brown and brook trout, and during late season you can see Pacific salmon.
You will fish amid fallen trees, overflows and old beds, which often hold large trout, ideal for sight fishing, with the challenge that this entails.
Fishing is almost all the time with dry flies and nymphs.
We usually wade the Rio Pico River in different sections, but depending on conditions it is possible to float it almost to the Chilean border.
RIO CORCOVADO

The Corcovado river is a freestone of slides and pools well-drawn, developed through the pamapa of Tucu Tucu. The gentle slope of the terrain becomes meandering and is influenced by several mallines organically. It has very deep pools which makes it ideal to float. In the pools closest to the area like the Llao-Llao, there is always always giant fishes (rainbow and brook trout) that chooses to spend time in rough waters. Despite better chances with streamers, and sinking lines, during the summer, there are good results and a lot of fun fishing with nymphs and dry flies.
If you are very lucky, you will encounter one of the main attractions of this river, the massive Chinooks back from the Pacific Ocean, which average between 10 and 30 pounds.
We usually float the Corcovado river for a day trip, entering close to the Vinter lake, stopping at some great pools where wading is possible.
RIO PAMPA

Pampas River is a typical freestone mountain, with a good structure well
defined, divided into rifles, runs and pools. The upper section of the Pampa river runs almost entirely within one of the main valleys of Tres Valles Fishing Lodge. In this section, long rifles and well-defined runs offers unique nymph fishing. It is quite common to catch a lot of trout in the upper section, as many as 20 trouts et a time is not unusual. Fishing with dry flies well chosen is the surest way to find the best fish in the river, often near the 20 inches.
The lower section presents well-defined small pools spread
between short rifles. Anglers fishing in this section typically catch big trout on dry flies. The best option is to cast a dry fly near the ravines on the other side of the shore where sunken trees may shelter a big brown trout, and wait for the big strike.
The capture of several specimens exceeding 18 inches is very common and
the possibility of unique sessions with over 20 superb catch make this section one of the jewels of the area. There rainbow, with good physical condition, often take more specific patterns, especially those that imitate emerging mayflies like Parachute Adams. The hatch in mid to late season in rivers like the
Pampas, generally lasts several hours and is usually not very dense, which
makes excellent for fishing throughout the day.
RIO NILSON
Very dynamic river which rises in the mountains and flows into the Rio Pico with crystal clear waters. It is a great place to fish with light equipment and mostly dry fly.
It has a large population of medium-sized trout with possibilities to capture, bigger fish, resulting in great days fishing with lots of activity.
EL MATERNO

El Materno is a great spring creek where seeing the trout to catch comes before adapting your cast, choice of flies and techniques.
Its perfect size allows for excellent sight fly fishing techniques. There we use light equipment (3 - 4 rods) and mostly dry flies and nymphs in numbers.
The spring creek offers perfect fishing conditions nestled as it is, in a valley protected by a forest of Ñires where also flows the Rio Pico.
The major trophies of this outstanding spring creek are excellent brown trout averaging about 20 inches, being able to catch larger trout.
ARROYO NEGRO

One of the favorite spot of our guides and guests where fly fishing becomes an art. The Arroyo Negro Spring is exclusively within Tres Valles property. Small spring creek in a wonderful Patagonian landscape which flows within the main valley of the ranch, with large trout, in small volume, which makes it a great challenge for the angler.
Using light equipment and flies selected to match the hatch of the moment here the fishing is subtle and the narrow stream requires delicate and accurate presentations.
LAKES

The Rio Pico Region has more than 20 lakes.
Lake Vilches, property of Tres Valles fishing lodge, with lots of trophy trout of the three species (brown, rainbow and brook trout) offers great opportunities to fish specimens of 15 pounds or more. Fly fishing is mainly with streamers although sometimes they can be captured with dries and nymphs, casting towards the trout's movement int he water. You will fish very well from an inflatable boat, as well as wading from the shore.
Many other lake can be part of your program , lake 3, lake 5 among others.
